Midi Files
- Midi files for the public domain hymns are provided in the 'Multi-Media Hymn Library' purchased product. Open the file Content & Copyrights to see which hymns are included. Click the Web Store button to browser our on-line store.
- Midi files are also available separately in the 'Midi Files' purchased product.
- Each midi begins with a short musical introduction, followed by the hymn music repeated according to the number of stanzas printed in the hymn, and concluding with an appropriate Amen.
- The midis are played using midi player software such as Apple Quicktime, Microsoft Windows Media Player, and other purchased or free midi players.
- The hymn melody is recorded in Voice #1 of the midi file; the accompaniment chords are recorded in Voice #2.
- The midi files use Channel 20 "Church Organ" setting by default (Channel 19 if your instrument numbers start at 0); the instrument can be changed using midi editing software. MP3 files are also available which offer a fuller, more brilliant sound of a catherdral pipe organ.
- Many free and purchased midi editing software packages are available on the web allowing modification of the tempo, key, notes and other aspects of the performance.
