While I hearken to Thy law, No bondage of the Law, Obedient to the Law is made. Thy Law within our inward parts. The Ancient Law Departs The ancient Law departs, The doctors of the Law O Dearest Jesus, What Law Hast Thou Broken O dearest Jesus, what law hast Thou broken He hath fulfilled the Law of God for me, The law of love fulfilling. But still Thy Law and Gospel, Lord, Help us Thy holy Law to learn, The Law Commands and Makes Us Know The Law commands and makes us know The Law uncovers guilt and sin What curses does the Law denounce Thy life and comfort from the Law. The Law of God Is Good and Wise The Law of God is good and wise The Law is good; but since the Fall Its willing soul to keep Thy Law! From the Law I stand acquitted; That I, Thy Law revering, The Law brings condemnation; What God did in His Law demand The spirit of the Law requires, That God His Law had given The Law is but a mirror bright Yet as the Law must be fulfilled He hath for us the Law obeyed The Law reveals the guilt of sin The Law no peace can ever give, With whom the Law itself hath broken, The law of Christian love. But makes the Law of God Thy love the law that rules, |
